FAQ
Questions, answered.
Pricing
What does the price include?
Pickup at your door, express air transport, and delivery to the address abroad, plus fuel surcharges and the customs paperwork we prepare for you. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay us.
Does the price include duties and taxes?
No. Import duties and taxes are set by the destination country and are paid by the receiver on delivery. Many countries charge little or nothing on used personal belongings, and each destination guide explains the rules.
Why does box size change the price?
Express carriers bill on actual weight or on size (dimensional weight), whichever is greater. A big box of pillows is billed on its size; a small box of books on its weight. Our quote shows which applies, so you can pick the box that costs least.
Is it cheaper to send several boxes together?
Usually, yes. Boxes booked together travel as one shipment and are priced on their combined weight, which costs less per pound than sending them one at a time.
Boxes and packing
How many boxes can I send?
From 1 to 10 boxes per booking, each up to 70 lb. Need more? Make a second booking, or contact us for a larger move.
Can I use my own boxes?
Yes. Choose "My own box" and enter its measurements. Use a sturdy double-wall carton, seal every seam with packing tape, and remove old labels.
What can't I send?
Aerosols, flammable liquids, loose lithium batteries, perishable food, plants and seeds, cash and high-value jewelry, weapons, alcohol, tobacco and prescription drugs. Some destinations restrict more; the destination guide lists them.
Pickup and delivery
How does pickup work?
You choose a pickup day and time window when you book. Print the labels we email you, tape one to each box, and hand the boxes to the courier at your door.
How long does delivery take?
Most shipments arrive in 2 to 6 business days after pickup, depending on the destination and how quickly customs clears them. Each destination guide shows typical transit times.
How do I track my boxes?
Use the tracking number in your confirmation on our Track page. Every box has its own tracking number under one shipment.
Customs
Can I photograph my things instead of typing a list?
Yes. When you book, photograph what you're packing and Onvoyo Vision (patent pending) identifies each item, estimates a fair second-hand value, suggests a tariff code and flags anything that can't ship. You review and edit every line before it goes on your customs invoice. Photos are read and discarded, never stored.
What paperwork do I need?
A commercial invoice listing what's inside, with values. You fill in a simple contents list when you book; we turn it into the invoice. You print three copies, sign them, and put them in a pouch on your first box for the courier.
How should I value used belongings?
Declare what each item is worth today, not what you paid. A fair second-hand value is right for used clothes, books and household goods. Undervaluing can delay a shipment or lead to penalties.
Is Onvoyo a customs broker?
No. We prepare the paperwork from the information you give us and explain the rules, but the receiver is the importer and customs makes the final decision. Our guides are general information, not legal advice.
